Get up to date with Windows Server 2008 R2

Do you know what’s new in Windows Server 2008 R2? The ‘R2′ sounds like it’s not much, but trust us, there are many features bundled that make this update very worth it. From an IT perspective, the most waited feature is the Hyper-V live-migration. We saw a demo of this back in December and were pretty much awed when a VM playing a movie skipped for a nanosecond while it was moved from one server to the other, truly amazing.
But, what about the developer side, what’s new about it? Wouldn’t it be nice to assist a free seminar in which you could talk with subject matter experts about what’s coming in the new OS? Well, today is your lucky day, because the Platform Adoption Lab is just that. For 3 days you get to listen to the people working behind the technology about the new features. These are not long marketing PPTs; these are sessions filled with demos that will assist you in understanding what to expect in R2.
As if listening to these presentations was not enough, you get the opportunity to test it out first-handedly in the virtual lab environment. Yup – you get stretch, bend, rip, and do whatever you want with R2 while carrying out these most excellent virtual labs.
The price for this, you ask? $0.00. That is right, it’s free. So head over to the Virtual Lab page and register ASAP.
Oh, and if you do attend, remember to tag your tweets with #W2K8R2 – see you there!
